One person died and several others were injured after a taxi carrying a trailer overturned in Elsie’s River on the Old Faure Road near Mew Way this morning.
One critically injured patient was stabilized on the scene by paramedics before being taken to Tygerberg Hospital.
ER24’s Vanessa Jackson says five other patients, including an eight year old child, sustained multiple injuries including broken limbs and head injuries.
Four others sustained minor injuries.
Jackson says it is alleged that the taxi lost control and the heavy trailer caused the vehicle to roll several times.
The accident will be investigated.
