The Department of International Relations and Co-operation says it remains unclear who is responsible for the abduction of South African sound engineer, Nick Greyling, and his Nigerian co-worker, Bowie Attamah.
They workers were taken hostage when attackers stopped their bus in Niger Delta last week.
Department International Relations and Co-operation spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota says the authorities in Nigeria are in almost daily contact with South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Kingsley Mamabolo.
“We continue to wait, hope and pray that the citizen will be realised very soon.
“I think the Nigerians are trying to do all they can to secure his realise and we have no reason to believe that there could be a difficulty in getting him out,” said Nomfanelo Kota.
