The ruling party the African National Congress yesterday lashed out at the Congress of South African Trade Unions for not following proper protocol in dealing with what they deemed “internal matters”.
Newsflash news agency reported that Cosatu on Thursday said some members of the ANC were planning to oust secretary general Gwede Mantashe.
ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu says Cosatu is getting into the habit of attacking everything the ANC does, and pulling issues into the public forum.
Meanwhile the municipal workers’ union Samwu said elements in the African National Congress are canvassing for a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma later this year.
The union’s general secretary Mthandeki Nhlapo did not want to give names while addressing journalists.
But he says it is the same group that leaked information about the ousting of former president Thabo Mbeki's government before the ANC's Polokwane conference in 2007.
