Western Cape Education MEC Donald Grant is in deep stress because of the possible teachers strike.
Donald Grant says “his department will continue to monitor developments closely concerning possible industrial action by teachers next week. Plans are continuously being updated and developed by officials in the education department to ensure minimal disruption at schools”.
On the other hand government has had enough and is now implementing its final wage offer settlement agreement with labour.
Public service and Administration Minister Richard Baloyi has been quoted as saying “the State cannot be stuck in wage negotiations with trade unions for a whole year”.
One million public servants have not given up yet they will continue with the strike.
They have threatened to go on strike if government fails to meet their demands by Wednesday.
