Shack fires have claimed the lives of three people over the weekend in two seperate incidents on the Cape Flats..
A man burned to death on Monday morning when his house caught fire while he was sleeping in Site C Khayelitsha.
On Friday a father and his daughter died in a fire in Manenberg .
“Disaster management wishes to encourage that people living in informal settlements put out their candles and open flames because that is normally the cause of these fires,” said Disaster Management’s Wilfred Solomons Johannes.
