An accident took place at 22h00 last night on Lansdowne road in Khayelitsha.
Two taxis rammed into each other, head on with severe force coming to rest almost next to each other.
It has been reported that paramedics allegedly had a difficult time sorting through the bystanders in order to find the patients.
Three patients sustained multiple injuries, with two of them being in a more critical condition than the other.
Two more critical men are determined to be the drivers of the respective taxis.
Both drivers had multiple broken bones and severe head injuries.
The other man had sustained broken bones but was in a stable condition.
Five men and one woman were treated on scene for minor injuries and shock, and all patients were loaded into ambulances and transported to various surround provincial hospital.
