The fact that Cosatu has joined civil society organisations in condemning the proposed Protection of Information Bill will force the African National Congress to reconsider its position more carefully.
This is according to Pierre de Vos, a constitutional law expert at the University of Cape Town.
De Vos will later tonight speak about the impact of so-called Secrecy Bill at an event hosted by the Right2Know campaign, which has been staunchly opposed to the Bill since its inception.
De Vos says Right2Know will need Cosatu’s help.
