Liquified petroleum gas producers are lobbying government to increase the maximum price they can charge as there is no motivation to boost production and imports.
There is a huge gas shortage across South Africa.
Gas producers say they are producing at full capacity, but the cold weather has caused a spike in demand, which they cannot meet.
People have also been switching from electricity to gas due to the electricity price, although gas prices have also been increasing.
