Airline passengers may have to pay up to a hundred-Rands more on a plane ticket after the Airports Company South Africa announced a sharp price hike.

Airports’ passenger service charges will increase almost 35-percent. The company calls the increase unfortunate but unavoidable.

The Transport Department says it will review Acsa's economic regulatory framework within the next six months, to create predictable, transparent and balanced tariff determinations in future.
