ANC leaders were expected to demand tough action against the ANC Youth League and its executive at a meeting today.
Political Analyst at the Centre for Policy Studies, Aubrey Matshiqui, says the ruling party cannot afford to distance someone as powerful as Julius Malema.
Meanwhile the ANC Youth League has denied compiling a list of leaders to be elected at the ANC 53rd national conference next year.
Spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said the ANC had not yet declared succession talks open and the league would wait for this.
