Nursing union Denosa has slammed the Gauteng health MEC Ntombi Mekgwe as “extremely arrogant” following a decision to close the Chis Hani Baragwaneth Nursing College.
Denosa says the closure follows the department’s failure to resolve a fight over students’ refusal to work on public holidays without pay.
The students were then forbidden from writing exams.
Denosa wants officials involved in the decision suspended and letters informing students of the closure withdrawn.
