Johannesburg's suspended emergency services head Audrey Gule resigned yesterday before she could appear before a pre-dismissal hearing.
Gule had been accused of fraud and corruption and was suspended in June.
She allegedly pocketed 200-thousand-Rands of the city’s funds, and allegedly failed to renew the contracts of three long-serving finance department officials who had discovered the alleged transgression.
The money Gule owed to the city will be subtracted from any money due to her.
