The SA Jewish Board of Deputies has responded to the “Nazi blog” posted by the University of Pretoria’s Tuks breakfast team, last week Wednesday.

In a statement it said “SA Jewish Board of Deputies has accepted the unequivocal apology by the University of Pretoria regarding the unfortunate campaign of members of their radio station encouraging "saluting like a Nazi in public".

It added that the legacy of the Holocaust, in which three-quarters of European Jewry numbering six million men, women and children were murdered by the Nazi regime during World War II is, and always will be, a matter of deep pain and hurt to the Jewish people.

Richard Friedman from the SA Holocaust Museum said he believes that the post was innocent but it comes from a lack of understanding, research and a lack of integrity.

Friedman added that if it was done deliberately then it is totally unacceptable and it must be investigated fully.
