A defiant Julius Malema has hit back at Gwede Mantashe, accusing the ANC secretary general of using headlines to attack the Youth League’s views on Botswana.
At a public lecture at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus, Malema denied that the League had contradicted the ruling party's policy positions as cited by Mantashe and ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu earlier this week.
The senior party has castigated the Youth League for attacking President Ian Khama.
The two parties are heading for a showdown on the matter at a meeting on Monday.
