Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa says “all hell broke loose” when a disgruntled clerk opened fire at Johannesburg’s Rosebank police station yesterday afternoon.
A female captain was shot dead and the station commissioner Lieutenant Colonel Thandi Mkhize was critically wounded before the gunman committed suicide.
The man had last week been found guilty during an internal hearing of mishandling firearms.
Mthethwa says the whole force is in shock over the tragedy.
