The African Christian Democratic Party has expressed its faith in Judge Mogoeng Mogoeng’s abilities as the country’s new Chief Justice.

President Jacob Zuma announced Mogoeng’s appointment yesterday, following a recommendation by the Judicial Services Commission.

ACDP spokesperson Steve Swarts says Mogoeng is more than able to deal with the challenges that lie ahead

In a statement sent by the ACDP they said: “He will face various challenges including dealing with the Hlophe matter as well as implementing the transformation of the judiciary once the Superior Courts Bill and the 17th Constitutional Amendment Bill have been passed. We believe he is more than able to meet these challenges. He also has a passion for facilitating access to justice, which we clearly support.”
