A 39 year old Nigerian male from Johannesburg was arrested for dealing in drugs at Cape Town International Airport this morning.
During normal policing duties at the domestic terminal, SAPS members stationed at Cape Town International Airport noticed that one of the passengers of a domestic flight which arrived from Lanseria airport appeared suspicious.
They asked him to accompany them to the search room where his suitcase was searched. During the search they seized one plastic bag containing the drug, ‘tik’.
The drugs weighed 1kg with an estimated street value of R275 000-00.
The suspect is in police custody and will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 September 2011 on a charge of dealing in drugs.
