Murder suspect sought by Elsiesrivier Police

A 38 year old driver has been fatally wounded he was busy off loading passengers from his taxi in Halt Road Elsiesrivier.

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says it is alleged that an unidentified male walked to the taxi and randomly fired several shots at the taxi.

“The 38 year old victim tried to chase away from the shooter who was walking around the taxi and still shooting through the sliding door window and he bumped into five stationary vehicles in the road.

“The 38 year old victim died on the scene due to his injuries. A murder case has been opened for investigation,” said Van Wyk.

He says the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage but the possibility that it is gang related will be investigated.

He added that anyone with information about this incident is kindly requested to contact the investigation officer Detective Warrant Officer Micheal Prins 073 3016 288.
