The SA Rugby Union has responded to complaints that it imported Springbok supporter clothing from China.
The Congress of SA Trade Unions earlier accused Saru of disregarding local textile workers and only being interested in short-term profits.
Saru’s response is that it has gone to great lengths to ensure that a wide range of Springbok supporter gear is available across the country, despite the fact that it is not a clothing manufacturer.
Saru says an agreement is already in place with the SA Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union, which is yet to raise any concerns about the issue.
