Road accidents continue to claim lives on South African roads

Gauteng paramedics were kept busy last night and this morning when at least five people lost their lives in road accidents. Dozens were injured.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha says two women and a man in their twenties died in a head-on collision in Roodepoort.

And in Boksburg, two people died on the scene of another head-on accident in Barry Marais Road. Botha says a bakkie and a car collided.

In the Free State, 15 people were injured when a taxi driver lost control and the vehicle rolled near Bethlehem this morning.

Two of the injured suffered serious injuries.
