Customers intimidated by “Amaberete”

The Gauteng Liquor Forum has confirmed that their members and customers are often intimidated and attacked by a police unit dubbed Amaberete.
A television documentary recently exposed the brutal behaviour of some members of the police’s tactical response team.
The forum represents over 80-thousand shebeen and tavern owners.
Spokesperson Mlumgisi Majola says they have often complained about Amaberete.
