Corruption Watch on Thursday called
for the prosecuting authorities to act swiftly and ensure former Communications
Minister Dina Pule is held accountable for her alleged unlawful conduct.
The Parliamentary Ethics Committee found
Pule guilty of among other things abusing her power and lying to
Parliament.
Corruption Watch Executive Director
David Lewis said it’s quite clear that punitive powers are very limited. Lewis added that they are pleased
that a recommendation that criminal be charges be investigated against her have been made.
We think that it should be done at
the earliest opportunity and every effort should be made to recover the
resources that have been abused on Pule’s watch.
