The COCT offering R5 000 award to help in arrest of suspects who shot three men in Delft

Western Cape Police are offering a R5 000 award to anyone with credible information that can lead up to an arrest of the men who shot three men were at a construction site in Delft.

According to police the motive for the shooting was “possibly extortion”, after the men were attacked while working.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said that the victims were shot in their legs and were taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The incident took place following an argument between the construction companies and residents who wanted community members to be the ones employed, when the R500 million housing project started a few months ago.

Human settlements mayoral committee member Malusi Boo condemned this incident.
