The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the North West province said it is disturbed by the increase of rape, killings and all forms of gender based violence in communities.

Cosatu said it believes that this is a matter of the society as a whole must stand up and fight against this monster that is terrorising our country.

Cosatu’s North West Provincial Secretary Solly Phetoe said as Cosatu they think that prosecution and the police are contributing in the increase of rape and killings of women.

Phetoe added that every time these criminals are arrested they are offered legal aid representatives and that is the tax payers` money.

He added that they are calling on government to review the constitutional rights of the criminal law.
