A man burnt beyond recognition in Laingsburg

Western Cape Traffic Authorities said a truck driver died after he burnt beyond recognition in an accident on the N1 outside Laingsburg. 

It is believed that two trucks were travelling in the direction of Beaufort West on the N1.

Provincial Traffic Spokesperson Jacques Mostert said the driver of the one truck overturned while trying to overtake another truck.  The truck then caught alight with the driver trapped inside and he burnt beyond recognition.

Mostert added that the cause of the accident is still unknown at this stage and an investigation is underway.
