Four injured at taxi rank shooting

Four men were injured when three suspects randomly fired gunshots at the Nonzama taxi rank near the Strand in Cape Town today.

Captain Randall Stoffels said that the two men were seriously injured due to bullet wounds to the head and the other two had less serious injuries.

The suspects fled in a red Isuzu taxi which they abandoned minutes later near the taxi rank.The motive for the incident is still unknown but a case of attempted murder is being investigated.

Police are to investigate all possibilities and are looking into whether the incident was linked to taxi violence.
