Driving Chukker in Lansdowne road the M5 is covered completely with smoke; fire-fighters are busy putting down the fire which started about 1 pm.
The Lansdowne fire and rescue department says the cause of the fire is still not known, it may have been accident or otherwise.
Bush radio reporter Cindy Witten was at the scene, she said the fire was huge.
“Unfortunately the police don’t know what happened”, but she spoke to one of the police officers who said it is presumed that the fire was started by a vagrant.
But nothing could be confirmed as they fires were absolutely huge.
