People from all walks of life will gather at Cape Town’s Waterfront this afternoon to honour the outstanding work done by all emergency rescue services.
This includes the Police Service, Metro Police, traffic police, doctors, nurses, paramedics, fire-fighters, sea and mountain rescue, life savers and security guards.
Patriot's Day, formerly known as Thanksgiving Celebrations, aims to give back to the real heroes who work voluntarily to save others.
Organiser Rozario Brown says outgoing Western Cape Premier Lynne Brown and Western Cape Police Commissioner Mzwandile Petros will be present, as will a host of local artists.
