The City of Cape Town will officially launch the new system of CCTV cameras in Gugulethu and Mannenberg on Thursday.
“Wherever CCTV has been rolled out before, the cameras have had a positive impact and are useful for police services and metro police to combat crime.
“The City is guided by the rollout of cameras by crime patterns and also important traffic intersections and business areas,” said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Councillor JP Smith.
Executive Mayor Alderman Dan Plato, will switch on the new CCTV camera system. This system is an extension of the City’s current public area CCTV network.
