Stellenbosch University says classes will continue as usual and hostels will not be quarantined, despite the death of a 22 year old student infected with the deadly H1N1 virus.
The University confirmed the death of Durbanville, resident, Ruan Muller yesterday. Muller was admitted to the Durbanville Medi-Clinic where he was treated for pneumonia.
He is the first casualty of the virus in South Africa.
Stellenbosch University Rector, Russell Botman says the University has strengthened healthcare measures and has implemented an “adequate support system for those who don’t have private medical aid”.
