Department probe into funding for HIV/AIDS drugs
By Ofentse Mokae

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says the government is investigating whether it will run out of funding for HIV and Aids drugs in this financial year.
Motsoaledi said following a South African National Aids Council plenary meeting that his department had sensitised the Treasury on the funding matter.
Funding HIV and Aids drugs emerged as a problem this year when the Free State experienced a shortage of anti-retrovirals.
Media reports that the shortage was attributed mainly to over-expenditure by the provincial health department.
