The Western Cape Premier Helen Zille marks her 100 days in office today as head of government in the province.
The first 100 days are normally an indication of the future performance of the premier as she only really has to give an indication of clear plans she will be implementing.
In an interview with the station, Zille said her first days have been good throwing a lot of effort in service delivery issues.
“I spent the first hundred days working out exactly what is going on and trying to align everything that is happening to our vision,” she said.
She says they are modernising all of the process from IT to human resources and says she is getting a grip on the entire province.
Zille, who is also DA leader, says her cabinet have cut costs that were initially planned for celebrations and events rather working their future plans to speed up service delivery.
“We have also saved a great deal of money by cutting unnecessary parties and celebrations, we also did not buy any new cars but poured millions on service delivery where it matters,” Zille concluded.
Meanwhile Cosatu in the Western Cape says the only thing that looks better in the province is the Premier's face, because of her expensive Botox.
In a media statement Cosatu says drugs that were her key election platform have no plan in place, only a request for another month before they are able to present even a rough plan.
“On the economy there are no plans in place to reverse the job losses or create new jobs, the housing and service delivery has not moved forward an inch,” the statement said.
Cosatu says they are calling upon the National Government to assist her in mapping out a programme that brings relief to the people’s needs.
