Chaos of public transport resulted to violence in the townships yesterday.

In Nyanga eight cases of public violence were opened and a number of vehicles were stoned.

At least three suspects were arrested.

“One suspect was arrested of being in possession of unlicensed fire arm and ammunition and he is believed to be a taxi driver and the two were arrested of the theft of motor vehicle” said police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi.

Sitshitshi said the vehicle was reportedly stolen early this month in Gordon’s Bay.

Three suspects will appear in court tomorrow.
