Millions of rands have reportedly been wasted in a school bus scam in the Eastern Cape.
A media report has revealed that the province’s education department is paying bus companies to transport so-called "ghost" pupils around the province.
Claims are also being submitted for buses making journeys on routes which do not exist.
The anti-corruption Special Investigating Unit has been asked by education department heads in the province to probe the scam.
