The ACDP has called into question the President Jacob Zuma’s decision to have the opening of Parliament on Thursday night.
The party says the last minute decision has been taken unilaterally by the ANC without interaction with either party whips or the public as to the benefits or disadvantages.
The ACDP says it calls on the President to be transparent in this matter and fully explain the reasoning behind the move.
The ACDP believes the opening of Parliament at night is going to be a very costly exercise, impacting on security, transport for staff and overtime pay.
