A SA Roadlink driver who was arrested for drunken driving at the weekend has been suspended.
The bus company said the 45 year old driver had been temporarily suspended pending an internal investigation.
Spokesperson Lumka Oliphant confirmed that a SA Roadlink delegation will be meeting with Western Cape Safety and Security MEC Lennit Max today.
The provincial transport department yesterday said it was seeking urgent legal advice on ways to keep busses in the province safe. New steps against unsafe bus operators are to be announced today.
