Six suspects have been arrested in Hanover Park for drug smuggling , after metro police confiscated six packets of cocaine and over R 9 000 in cash.
Metro Police members, together with the tactical response and dg units,s executed a search warrant at a suspected drug den in Downwood Walk in the area.
Metro police chief Yolanda Faro says the six suspects, two female and four males, who were on the premises at the time of the raid, were arrested.
Meanwhile, during routine patrols in Atlantis on Saturday evening, six people were arrested for various offences.
Two people were arrested for the possession of tik, two motorists were arrested for drunk driving, one person was arrested for drunkenness, and another for riotous behaviour.
“Although our focus is mainly on the beaches over the festive season, we continued with routine patrols in residential areas and hence we maintained our good success rate,” said Faro.
