The charred bodies of two men were discovered in Capricorn near Muizenberg at the weekend.
Police were alerted of a shack fire in the area.
After extinguishing the fire, the bodies of the two men, both Malawian citizens, were found.
Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Knapp, says it is believed the blaze had been intentionally started after an argument ensued with another resident in the area.
Police are looking for Lionel Solomons, who they believe will be able to assist in the investigation.
A case docket of murder and arson has been registered.
Muizenberg police are appealing to anybody with information relating to the incident, to contact Detective Constable Patrick Mdokwana on 021 787 9024 or 079 894 1300.
