A police investigation has been launched into the drowning of a six-year-old boy in the pool at his Mafikeng school.
North West police say the incident took place on Thursday.
Grade one pupil Bogosi Lobelo drowned during a swimming session at the Mafikeng Preparatory School while under the supervision of a teacher.
Police say they are investigating whether there was negligence on the part of the teachers.
