Former Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in the South Gauteng High Court today.

Last month he was found guilty of all corruption charges against him by Judge Meyer Joffe.

Selebi received more than R200 00 from his drug trafficking friend Glenn Agliotti.

Judge Meyer Joffe said 15 years is an appropriate sentence and Selebi failed to show any remorse, lied and manufactured evidence, and embarrassed the police service.

“There are no substantial or compelling circumstances which justify the imposition of a lesser sentence," said Joffe.

Meanwhile, Glen Agliotti is on trial for the murder of mining magnate Brett Kebble.
