Government says President Jacob Zuma will meet with senior newspaper editors to discuss their concerns about the proposed Protection of Information Bill when he returns from his trip.
Media organisations have criticised the proposed legislation, saying it violates media freedom.
Head of the South African National Editors Forum, Mondli Makhanya says the Bill is a “shaky moment in South Africa’s democracy.”
Zuma is currently in Russia on a two-day official state visit.
