The latest news on Cape Town musician Chad Saaiman is that he has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on his own.
He is still in the Intensive Care Unit at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg.
Saaiman was shot in the stomach on Sunday in a botched hijacking in Johannesburg.
Loyiso Bala has been quoted as saying "The doctors say he'll make a full recovery. He's off the ventilator and conscious."
