A new audio-visual remand system for awaiting trial prisoners will save the Justice Department quite a penny.

The new system will allow video conferencing between prisons and courts.

The system will prisoners not have to travel to the court if their cases are remanded.

Regional head for the Justice Department, Hishaam Mohammed says the system, which is aimed at improving efficiency and raise levels of service delivery of the courts, will be introduced countrywide.
