Pro-Afrikaans action group Praag is calling for Afrikaner independence from South Africa.
This follows the move to independence by the Republic of South Sudan over the weekend.
Praag leader Dan Roodt says he is quite saddened at the exclusion of Afrikaners from South Africa's dominant Afro-Saxon culture.
Roodt says the small groups around the world a getting their independence and that creates the exciting possibility that Afrikaners in SA will also get theirs.
He says Afrikaners are in desperate need of independence.
