National Assembly Speaker Max Sisulu will meet Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa and Public Protector Thuli Mandonsela next week.
Parliament says in a statement that Sisulu has noted, with grave concern, media reports about a possible corruption investigation into Madonsela’s activities.
Police have not yet commented on the reports, describing the matter as “sensitive”.
Sisulu says the Office of the Public Protector enjoys Parliament’s full confidence. He stresses that she must be able to perform her functions without fear, favour or hindrance.
