International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge says South Africa is ready to host the Games after last year's successful soccer World Cup.
Rogge says while he respects the country’s decision not to enter the race to hold the 2020 summer Games, he is convinced South Africa would enter the Olympic race sooner rather than later.
He thinks the country might turn its attention to becoming the first African country to host a Games by bidding for the 2024 edition.
