New headquarters for another government department is in the spotlight.
A company linked to President Jacob Zuma’s new son-in-law Lonwabo Sambudla reportedly tendered for the R1 billion contract to construct new headquarters for the Department of Public Service and Administration in Pretoria.
A local newspaper reports that Public Service and Administration Minister Richard Baloyi and a top adviser to Public Works Minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde pushed for the deal to go ahead, despite the company only being the fourth preferred bidder.
The process is now stalled because of budget constraints.
