The Freedom Front Plus plans to refer the Information Bill to the Constitutional Court due to the exclusion of the “public interest” defence.

The party says it is of the utmost importance that people who do reveal information are able to defend themselves by indicating that they did so in the public interest.

Parliamentary spokesperson on Communication, Anton Alberts, says the principle is needed to reveal corruption in government, given plague of corruption in the ANC government.
