The Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation has called on Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to rectify what it regards as the injustice around the Dalai Lama visa.
The Foundation says even at this late stage, Motlanthe should ensure that the Tibetan holy man is granted permission to travel to South Africa.
The Dalai Lama cancelled his planned attendance of Archbishop Tutu’s 80th birthday this weekend, following delays with the processing of his visa application.
Motlanthe has said that the visa would have been granted, had it not been for the cancellation.
