A nine-year-old boy was killed and more than a thousand homes destroyed when tornados struck Ficksburg in the Free State and Duduza on the East Rand on Sunday.
The boy was killed in Ficksburg when a wall fell on him.
According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha says forty-two people were injured during the storms.
The Weather Service has warned that more extreme weather can be expected today.
